Ms Tereu has a Capital Time in Wellington.

Well every student in Room 7 knows that Ms Tereu absolutely positively loves Wellington, Wellywood, Welling-town, Te Upoko o te Ika a Maui, or even Te Whanganui a Tara.  No matter what name you use.  Ms Tereu loves our nation's capital.

Why???

Reason Number 1:  As a 21 year old (OMG, we're talking way back in the days here hehe) Ms Tereu moved to Wellington to study.  She had to grow up big time as this was the first time she was away from her family.   So, it's a special place because it was where she learnt to stand on her own two feet.

Reason Number 2:  The art scene in Wellington is the bomb.  Even the busking in Cuba St Mall is entertaining.  She loves Te Papa too.

Reason Number 3:  It's a beautiful city with a gorgeous harbour.  Ms Tereu loves going for walks on the harbour as well as just sitting there taking in the sea views.

These are a few of the reasons why she loves Wellington so much.  On the 19th - 22nd December Ms Tereu had a magical time in the Capital City.  It was fantastic!

Here's some pics of her wonderful time in Wellington.

The outside of my mean as hotel.  It's right in the middle of town.  It was awesome to walk past buskers and to see lots of interesting city people!

The Island Princess's chamber.  I love it!

A wonderful fashion exhibition at Te Papa.  SO fantastic to see designer gowns from throughout history.  I got a real buzz seeing Gwen Stefani's wedding dress.  (Google it...it's funky!)

This dress was absolutely beautiful.  Made by one of the world's top designers.

One thing I love about Wellington is the politics.  Some protestors were camping in the Civic Centre against humanity's greed!

The protestors camp.  Whether you agree with them or not.  They are standing up for what they believe.

Deklin gave me a poem and some M & M's for Christmas.  So, I took them to my happy place where I sat at the harbour reading a book and eating my pressy from Deklin.  Thank you my darling!

A poem on the harbourside.  This was the view from where I sat eating my M & M's.

The Kupe Statue - it shows the sighting of Aotearoa.  I love the artwork in Wellington!

Ms Tereu enjoying the sun and sights in Wellington!

My flash as dessert with my flash as dinner with a flash as price! Bwhahahaha.  Work hard at school my darlings then you too can buy yourself nice things.

Creative Minds are Thinking Minds.

Term 4 was so busy that I got rather slack with updating the blog.  SO, here's some overdue posts from 2011.  (Hehehe - it's nearly 2012 but hey it's all good in the hood!)

The challenge was for Room 7 to create a wedding dress out of toilet paper.  The groups had to work interdependently from planning, right to the creating of the gown.  It was fantastic to see their creations.

There was a shortage on brides, so some of the boys volunteered themselves for this glamourous role.  Love them long time xxx.

Bethany's team of designers hard at work creating her dream gown! (Haha)

Yep, we're pretty modern in Room 7.  No blushing bride but a cool as dude happy to be our bridal model.  Haha.

Toso knows exactly what this gown needs.

The blushing bride??? Hahaha

Our model Ashlee waits for her team of designers.

Working interdependently to get the job done.

The gown is starting to take shape!

My Aitutaki boys getting in on the designing.

Bethany's got a bodice...but where's the rest of the gown guys?

Kaleb Saint Laurent getting his design on!

Many hands make light work!

The gown is starting to take shape!

Jaedyn hands Bethany the final touches - the bouquet!

An orange veil, a male bride...yep this is definitely the 21st Century!

Bwahahahahahaha....should we play guess who?

Happy designers, mystery bride.

Ashlee and her team of designers.  A job well done.

Ashlee makes a beautiful bride!

Bethany and her team of designers.

We should have made a dress for the teddy.  Haha.

Another blushing bride!

The dresses were recycled into a volcano...(Yeah I don't know how that happened either...but we're a creative bunch so who cares hahahahaha)

Creative Minds = Great thinking.

"Creativity is as important as literacy”

Here in Room 7 we love to read, write and do maths.  That's all great stuff we need for now and in our future.  But, we've been learning that we can be creative with all these things.  Einstein found out lots of clever things about numbers because he wasn't afraid to tutu around with them.  The Arts are a great way for us to use our brains and practice creativity.

A box of crepe paper, + a group of children + a lot of competition + a classroom = The Room 7 Creativity Challenge.

The classroom was divided in half. The challenge was to plan and work together to decorate their side of Room 7.  Miss Templeton was the judge.

Here's the photographic evidence of the great thinking taking place in Room 7.  It's takes brains to plan, it takes brains to work with others.  We're just a brainy, creative bunch in Strathmore 7th Learning Heaven.

Jame and Rangikauwhata making decorations for their side of the room.

Oh my gosh!  Room 7 has never been this messy hehe.  But, creativity is messy business.

Paige and Sharnee discussing what needs to happen next.

Creativity requires planning.  This meeting looks like serious business.

Co-operation is needed to complete the task.

Shannon and Autumn go high to decorate their side of Room 7.

It's all starting to come together.

This team went for lots of plaited ropes of crepe paper to create the dangle effect.

Yeah boy!  Lots of vibrant colour.
Ezekiel and Jordan go high to add their decorations.
