Room 7 Radio Celebrities...Classic Hits Class of the Week

Jordan Brannigan from Classic Hits FM came into Room 7 last week.  He asked a group of children questions like..."Who is your hero?"  (Thanks for saying Ms Tereu, Madison...you're my favourite student...but that's our secret okay! Bwahahahaha).

He even asked them "Why is your class the best?"...I loved Teariki's response "Because we do fun things in class"...Learning is fun...(You're my second favourite student...but that's a secret too....hahahahaha)

I am the proudest teacher in the world.  The children spoke so clearly and they sounded so cute on the radio.  You rock my world!

Radio Celebrities

We love the limelight!
Madison even read the weather report every morning.  Jim Hickey eat your heart out.  Madison, this could be the beginning of a career in broadcasting.  Soooooooo proud of you!!!

Let me end this post by saying that Room 7 students are super multimedia stars.  We rock it on Youtube, our blog and now on the radio.  We're taking over the world!!!

Pakia o ringa

Mrs Taikato taught us this action song in Mahi Maori.  We practiced in class time because we wanted to be in time with each other.  We made a few mistakes, but we improved heaps.  That's what persistence is all about!

Teariki takes the initiative!

This is Teariki's second year in Room 7.  Last year he worked really hard on being persistent in learning.  Teariki went from saying "I can't" to "This is hard but I'm going to stick at it".
Ms Tereu captured Teariki mapping our blog visitors on our class world map.  She was so happy to see Teariki attempting a task that was a little bit tricky for him and sticking at it until he finished.
He asked for help along the way but that's all a part of being a persistent learner.  Successful learners are persistent when faced with difficulties.
You go Teariki!  Ms Tereu loves you long time xxx
Teariki gets to work on the task at hand.

Wow!  London is a long way from Aotearoa.

Nearly finished.  Way to go Teariki-Teakari!

The Visual Mihimihi are completed!!!

Room 7 Visual Mihimihi Class Shot.

Isaiah, Ranginui, Shannon, Rangikauwhata and Ezekiel

Kalais, Ruthie, Tyron, and Josiah

Autumn, Tarati, Joyce-Lenae and Bethany

Phoenix, Jordan, Zevaux and Rifle

Tahlia, Kaleb, Paige and Sharnee

Teariki and Toso (standing) Madison and Deklin (seated)
Room 7 created Visual Mihimihi - each piece of art needed to have a portrait of each student, something to represent their family and their culture as well as picture of their special place.  You can see from the results that they've all created beautiful pieces of art.
Learning really is heaven in Room 7.

RANGINUI COMES TO STAY

Every night a different student from Room 7 takes the Teddy-U's home. They write a story to be included in our class diary about what they got up too. Bethany Koia used technology to publish her adventures with Ranginui. Here it is for all to enjoy! (PS: A big thanks to Andrea for the technical support!)
